Dare To Dream
There are so many struggles in all of our lives and we all deal with those experiences differently. I pour all my emotions and soul into my art and is therapeutic in relieving when I finish an art piece. I want to convey those feelings to the world. Particularly I want to pursue art in the form of children’s illustration or freelance illustration. Both have opportunities to truly be myself, having fun and creative liberties with art. It is admirable to see artist such as Brittney Lee collaborating with such amazing companies such as Disney and have such fragrant of artistic expression. No matter what medium or genre of the project Brittney has an iconic style that combines natural and modern elements that seem so alive. Having illustrations that live and breathe with emotion and purpose are they type of work I strive for. Being able to one day own a private studio dedicated for the soul purpose of bringing art alive and involved in people’s life would be the dream. Art has that amazing quality of being an amazing tool of communication, regardless of language and background illustrations can break down barriers that are apprehensive and stiff allowing for deep and meaningful conversations.
As an artist I illustrate for my inner child; using the expressionistic qualities of watercolors and binding qualities of black ink to create delicate intricacies which brings a construct to my childish hopes and dreams. Often my art depicts dreamscapes, ancient architecture, and convey emotions of warm and memorable moments. This often tells stories of a traveler of sorts who is finding their place in life which represent my personal struggle in deciding how I want to live my life and the difficulty I have putting value in my dreams because it would be a waste of my effort or time When creating my pieces I often try to work in a set so they can consist of theme; having a general message but the different possibilities and outcomes of the message.
It takes many hours of dedication, focus, and self searching to find a means to create an illustration. I put myself in a state of emptiness to absorb whatever God or the universe believe is best for me to interpret and communicate so that I can learn about society and role in it. Listening to music gives me ranges of emotions to choose and messages to pull from that relate to my childhood so that I can empathize and interestingly find a bright side. Technical skills that I keep in mind when create my illustrations is the emotion that most relate with the message I try to convey, a interesting composition that keeps the viewer interested and engaged with, and rhythm within the piece to give it movement.
